Difference Between Transactional SMS and Promotional SMS ?

Transactional SMS are message used for sending order and booking alerts and informational message to registered customer.

Promotional SMS is used for sending marketing and sales messages. They are delivered only to opt-in and non-DND number. 
 


What is Transactional SMS ?

Transactional SMS is used by business to relay transactional information. Transactional SMS is used to send OTPs, informational messages, booking and order alerts to your registered customers. Transactional message are delivered to all recipients, irrespective of their DND status. 

Transactional SMS are delivered 24*7 with no time restriction. Transactional SMS can be assigned a 6-alpha character sender id of your choice. It should corresponds with your business or product name.

One of the most common example of a transactional SMS is when a customer receives a text message sharing their order status or shipping updated from somewhere they've shopped online.    


What is Promotional SMS ?


Promotional SMS is used to send offers, discounts or promotions to new and existing customers. Promotional messages are only delivered to Non- DND umbers and opt-in numbers. 
Promotional SMS can be sent only between 9 am and 9 pm. Promotional SMS will be delivered with a random 6-digit Sender ID assigned by the telecom operator.
